When it comes to using data, context is everything. At Zenysis we value the importance of understanding the dynamics, data quality challenges and technology constraints shaping your management and use of data. That’s why, at the beginning of every project, we work with you to complete a series of targeted assessments that provide a clear picture of your data use context. 

  • Organizational Readiness Assessment
    • Building a data-driven culture means looking at more than just technology. Our Organizational Readiness Assessment examines the personnel, process and data management structures that influence how your organization uses data. We highlight assets across each of these dimensions, and identify concrete opportunities for addressing gaps found during the assessment.
    • We also explore the wider information and data landscape relating to your sector, including ministries, donors and implementing partners, to understand all factors at play.
    • Creating a shared understanding of your organization’s current state and ideal future state allows you to build a strong foundation for data-driven decision making, moving you toward real, sustainable change.
  • Technical Readiness Assessment
    • Achieving transformative insights that enable action requires the right technical skills, data policies and infrastructure. Our Technical Readiness Assessment ensures that our data harmonization and integration efforts align with your program’s needs and constraints, while highlighting technical areas where action and capacity strengthening is required.
    • We work with you to assess your data governance policies and practices and technical infrastructure and support mechanisms. We also explore the data interoperability and integration landscape to identify requirements for health information exchange with other data systems.
  • Data Quality Assessment
    • Understanding the quality of your data is key to effective use. Zenysis performs rigorous data quality assessments and works with you to develop guidelines, tools and improvement plans to improve your data quality over time.
    • Examining all relevant data sources, we assess the completeness, consistency, timeliness, accuracy, validity and properties of the data within them. Our data quality validation rules and data quality score reports also enable us to identify any issues and ensure that your data meets the highest standards.

Developing the right data solution

Designing a data platform that meets your unique needs and context means identifying your organization’s priorities when it comes to data use. Zenysis works closely with your team to build rapport, determine the problems you want to solve, and design the right solution. 

  • Use case design
    • Every organization has a variety of objectives – or use cases – for the data it gathers, analyzes and actions. A use case is a user-centric framework that describes the goal, challenge areas, inputs, outputs and outcomes of a data solution. Developing use cases is an important step that allows you to identify the right data sources and the ways in which that data needs to be processed, analyzed and used. Through facilitated sessions, Zenysis works alongside your team to iteratively develop a clearly defined set of use cases to achieve your highest priorities.
  • Stakeholder co-creation and trust-building workshops
    • Stakeholder co-creation and trust building workshops are specialized Zenysis offerings designed to foster collaboration among key stakeholders from various sectors, including public health delivery partners, the private sector, and government. The goal is to identify and address challenges related to data reporting and use, thereby enhancing cooperation between and across stakeholders.
    • To address these challenges and potential barriers to public-private data sharing partnerships, we facilitate a dialogue among key health system stakeholders. This dialogue, guided by Human-Centered Design principles, aims to align understanding of the data challenges and co-create potential solutions that will enhance data availability, accessibility, quality, and use.

Deliver

Strengthening skills in data analysis and use

Skills in all aspects of data analysis and use are essential to using data to inform decision-making and achieving your organization’s goals. Zenysis adopts a varied approach to skills strengthening, providing training on our platform, Harmony, and its various capabilities, as well as training in areas such as root cause analysis, problem-solving, data interpretation and communicating data.

  • Data use training and coaching
    • Zenysis’ skills strengthening services include both structured group training and individual coaching and mentoring. Group platform training sessions ensure your staff are able to make the most of Harmony (our platform’s) analytical capabilities to uncover program insights. Our individual coaching and mentoring discussions help program leaders develop strategies to address the technical, organizational and behavioral barriers that may hinder adoption of a data-driven culture. We also facilitate peer-to-peer learning to reinforce and embed data use skills, structures and processes.
    • Our in-country and global teams will work with you on an on-going basis to reinforce statistical awareness and technical skills, strengthening your data analysis, interpretation, and communication. We also provide your administrators with tools to monitor system use analytics and work with you to optimize Harmony’s integration into your workflows.
  • Facilitation and ideation sessions
    • At Zenysis we believe in fostering collaboration and inclusivity. To support this, we facilitate participatory data interpretation and insight generation sessions where we work with you and your partners to craft recommendations and plan actions that ensure that data-driven insights inform program and policy actions.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and learning support
    • Understanding, improving and communicating program effectiveness requires access to, and use of, high-quality data. Zenysis’ Harmony platform can play a valuable part in your monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) efforts. We work with you to continuously track, analyze, share and apply insights that advance your MEL goals and activities. Critical learnings generated during a project can be captured and communicated to stakeholders, informing future work both within your country and globally. We also facilitate communication and dissemination of information and information products, supporting decision-making at the national and subnational levels.

    • Sustainability is key to maximizing the impact of data use. We take a collaborative approach in planning for sustainability, involving both technical and organizational decisions and commitments made together with our country and global partners.
    • We work with you to develop a plan for institutionalizing use of our platform, along with the processes and practices that enable you to make the most of it, based on your circumstances and requirements. We also design a tailored curriculum to support the technical transfer of platform maintenance to your team, encompassing both hosting and data integration capabilities.
    • By working with you to develop and implement a sustainability roadmap tailored to your unique needs, we maximize the value you can derive from analytics and data use, setting you up for self-sufficiency and continued success.
